Boil Advisory Lifted

The city of Findlay has lifted the boil advisory that was put in place for residents on Hollybrook Drive and Mona Lane yesterday. The city of Findlay states they took samples of the water and analyzed it with negative results. City water is now available for use for these residents. 

Cemetery Clean-Up Announced

On October 7, 2024, a Fall/Winter clean-up will take place at the Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria. The City of Fostoria is asking lot owners to remove any summer decorations from their lot before the clean-up day. If any items are left over, except the items on the stone will be thrown away. Lot owners will need to wait until October 11 to place out new Fall/Winter decorations. 

New Dean Announced at Owens Community College

Owens Community College announced that the new Dean for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be Dr. Dan Burklo. 

 

Dr. Burklo holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a Ph.D. in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University. He has taught courses on engineering technology, created certificate and degree programs, and served as the dean and vice president for academics with different schools. 

 

He also served as the chair for the Ohio Engineering Technology Educators Association, and was involved in Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways, Transfer Assurance Guidelines and Prior Learning Assement. 

 

 

Police Ask Public for Information on Car Theft

Bellevue is asking the public to help identify three suspects that allegedly stole vehicles from a used car dealership.

 

The police department posted a video of the crime that took place on August 21 at Teamray Motorsports at 1400 E. Main Street. The suspects used a red Dodge or Chrysler mini van to get to the dealership and stole two vehicles, as stated by Sgt. Todd Trego. Trego believes the vehicles are now in Indiana. 

 

The dealership is also offering a reward for $2,500 if someone can locate that lost vehicles. 

 

 

Community Health Fair to be held at St. Mark's

On September 18th, the Wood County Health Department, Wood County Hospital and Mercy Health will hold a Community Health Fair for community members. 

 

The event will provide free health screenings, flu and COVID vaccines, free at-home COVID Tests, and mammograms. To get a mammogram, you must be 40 years or older, 365 have passed since your last test, mustn’t be pregnant or breastfeeding, can walk up and downstairs without help, no issues of breastfeeding, and that your insurance covers the mammogram by calling 833-626-6826. 

 

The event is 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church at 315 S. College Dr., Bowling Green.
