Owens Community College announced that the new Dean for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be Dr. Dan Burklo. 

Dr. Burklo holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a Ph.D. in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University. He has taught courses on engineering technology, created certificate and degree programs, and served as the dean and vice president for academics with different schools. 

He also served as the chair for the Ohio Engineering Technology Educators Association, and was involved in Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways, Transfer Assurance Guidelines and Prior Learning Assement.
