Fostoria Students Receive Hyde Champions Club Certificate

On Tuesday, 53 Fostoria Junior/Senior High School students that are in pursuit of scholarship money had a zoom call with former Fostoria All-Ohio football player, and now Buffalo Bill, Micah Hyde. The call was to announce that each student would receive a certificate from Hyde’s Champions Club. 

 

Hyde created the club in 2021 through his IMagINe for Youth foundation. Students can start taking part when they are in seventh grade and can continue on through graduation. During that time, students receive credits by participating in two sports and maintaining honor roll-level grades.

 

If students collect all the required credits, they will receive $5,000 to use for their post-secondary education. Students receive a certificate at the end of each quarter of the school year to keep them on pace for the award. 

 

 

Below are the certificate recipients:

 

Freshmen: Noah Bernal, Barrett Hernandez, Kamari Johnson, Anthony Kleinmark, KK McBeth-McMullen, Reece Ramirez, Amaiyah Rodriguez, Ezekiel Sensabaugh, Landan Sherman, Dawson Smith, AmariusAmir Velasquez, Addison Wright, Reese Young.

 

Eighth-graders: Kaliyah Day, Alyssa Doogs, Adelayed Guernsey, Ty Hernandez, Lucas Klotz, Ahmani Lee, Mason Swann, Maxwell Trent, Brin Weidner.

 

Seventh-graders: Grayson Bauman, Cecilia Bringmanm, Cinthia Camacho Campos, Andre Cofer, Hunter Cook, Noah DeLaRosa, Zooey Dutcher, Aliah Grine, Mya Hartley.

 

 

 

 

Radio Dispatcher is Honored by the Ohio State Highway Patrol

The Ohio State Highway Patrol named Tyree Ashlee the 2023 Dispatcher of the Year at the Findlay Dispatch Center. Sworn officers and dispatchers make the decision based on who recieves the title based on job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic attitude while working, teamwork and prompt and courteous response to the public's request for information or help.

 

The Tiffin native joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2014 and has served at the Findlay Dispatch Center since joining the Division. During that time she has been named the Dispatcher of the Year for the Findlay Post in 2018, 2019, and 2022. She was then  named the Findlay District Dispatcher of the Year in 2022 and was a recipient of the Dispatcher Criminal Patrol Award in 2018.

 

Tyree graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and recieved her Associated Degree from Brown Mackie College.  

 

 

The SGCHD Returns to Old Location Next Week

The Seneca County General Health District will be closed November 6 through November 8. They will move back to their original location on East Perry Street. 

 

The health district was working temporarily on Fair Lane after they discovered mold in the ductwork. After conducting a final air quality test, the SCGHD clearance to return to their original location.
