Gas Line Repaired at BG Middle and High School

Yesterday, Bowling Green City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Ted Haselman, released a statement stating that crews repaired the gas line that was struck on the High School and Middle School campus around 2:15 p.m.

The new high school construction project led to the gas line being hit. Students were evacuated, and custodians acted swiftly to turn off the gas lines of the buildings affected by the incident. Staff assisted parents when they arrived at student drop-off. While other staff evacuated students to the football field to contact their families to make sure they got home. Secondary students were also taken home by the school district’s transportation team.

Dr. Haselman added that he greatly appreciated the first responders, utility crews, construction partners, and district staff’s reaction to the situation, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
