ZONTA LANDINGS BOAT RENTALS OPEN MAY 24 THROUGH LABOR DAY
Zonta Landing is a public boat livery concession that provides rentals of canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats at Riverside Park. Rentals are taken first come, first served. Canoes and kayaks may also be taken, by the renter, to other bodies of water within Hancock County with an advanced reservation through the HPD office. Equipment rates for canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats are $5 per Â½ hour. The rental fee for an entire day is $25. Group outings with 6 or more watercrafts are discounted at the rate of $20 per day. All rates include life jackets, paddles, and sales tax.
HPD boat livery operation is open from 1-7pm, weekends and holidays, beginning Saturday, May 24 through Monday, September 1 during good weather conditions. Last launch time for 1 hour rentals is 6pm and last launch time for Â½ hour rentals is 6:30pm. Contact the HPD office for special arrangements on watercraft rentals. Periods of high water or hazardous weather could close the concession at the discretion of the HPD staff.

INSIDE STATE MENTAL HOSPITALS, BOWLING GREEN
The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
14TH ANNUAL PETER RABBIT TEA, FINDLAY
14th Annual Peter Rabbit Tea
(Register by May 29; the cost is $4 per person)
Our 14th Annual Peter Rabbit Tea features â€œMrs. Tittlemouseâ€, as read by Beatrix Potter. The tea will be offered on Monday, June 2 at 9:30am, 11am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm. Tea times are also available on Tuesday, June 3 at 9:30am, 11am, 1pm and 2:30pm. The tea will be held at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, at the gatehouse. After the story is read in the Activity Barn, â€œteaâ€ will be served in the 1847 historic McKinnis House. Following tea, participants will meet â€œMrs. Tittlemouseâ€, where they will participate in a garden scavenger hunt. Children are required to be ages 4-6 years old; no other aged siblings can attend. One adult is required for every two children.
Litzenberg Memorial Woods located at 6100 US 224, 6 miles west of Findlay. The site is handicap accessible with restrooms available inside the Activity Barn.
