“Tis the season…” is how the saying goes but what season is it exactly? While the weather is certainly confusing the situation it is still fall and fall is time for Thanksgiving. Its increasingly obvious that the whole “Thanksgiving season” is skipped over these days. I think most of that is retail driven and don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of holiday shopping. Gift giving is awesome. But do we really need to have trees, wreaths, Christmas carols and all that already? If you ask me we need to sloooooow dooooooown and enjoy November and Thanksgiving (it’s my friend Hannah’s “Birthday Month”… yes she gets a month... Can’t forget to mention that.) With that being said… here are some things that I think we can’t forget about Thanksgiving!
-Pumpkin Pie. Because honestly… pumpkin pie is amazing (any pie really)
-Grandma & Mom’s Cooking... because it's delicious. I'm crossing my fingers for the corn dish that I can't remember the name of.
-Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade… I am still a kid at heart and like the balloons. Always wanted to fly one.
-Football… while the games are normally terrible (maybe there is hope for the Lions game this year?) it’s always a good time to kick back and watch football.
-Leftovers… because then I don’t have to cook for a few days
-Maybe actually take some time to reflect and give thanks.
-Family time… rehash the old memeories.
What are you favorite things about Thanksgiving? Let me know!
