Summer Bucket List Update

1.) Throw out the first pitch on July 26th at the Toledo Mud Hens Game!

- Nick & I have been asked to throw out a first pitch and I can’t wait to redeem myself for last year! If you haven’t heard the story by now… I was shown up by a little boy, a young softball player and the Detroit Pistons Mascot. Needless to say it was a pretty embarrassing excuse of a first pitch. In fact I bounced it in the batter’s box! (I still maintain that I couldn’t see the catcher because of the sun!)

2.) Take the Jet Express to Put-In-Bay

-Believe it or not I have never been to Put-In-Bay! The plan is to go island and explore it. I hear great things about the food and you can never go wrong tooling around in a golf cart!

3.) Watch a game at Progressive Field in Cleveland

-It wouldn’t be summer without going to a Tribe game! Hopefully it will be on a dollar dog night! Nothing sounds like a great eating challenge night with your buddies like dollar dogs!

4.) See Jerry Blevins pitch in Great American Ball Park vs. the Reds

- I was able to interview Jerry Blevins on the Sports Huddle this year so I am hoping to see him pitch against the Reds when I go down in August. GABP is such an awesome environment to check out a game and ball park food is awesome.

5.) Take a trip to the Zoo.

- I am still a little kid at heart and I really like the zoo. The last time I went it was during Boo At The Zoo and it was almost too cold to appreciate it.

6.) Explore the illustrious world of “Upper Arlington”

- Nick keeps talking about his home town as a place where “The Magic Happens” so I need to go see for myself. Our little “golden bear” is very proud of his stomping grounds and since I have taken him through the glorious mean streets of New Riegel I need to take him.

What else should I add to the list? Let me know!

Back in May I created a "Summer Bucket List" of things that I wanted to do this summer. Now that summer is all but over I thought I would revisit my list and see what I actually got accomplished!

1.) Throw out the first pitch on at a Toledo Mud Hens Game

- While we didn't get to throw out the first pitch we had what I think was an even better experience in delivering the game ball! It was really cool to take in all the pre game action from down on the field level.

2.) Take the Jet Express to Put-In-Bay

- I don't know what I was thinking by waiting so long to go up there! It was really peaceful out by the water and well... downtown speaks for itself...

3.) Watch a game at Progressive Field in Cleveland

- I got to see the Tigers take on the Tribe on July 5th. It was (to this point) the only sell out besides opening day. Great crowd but the Tribe lost :/

4.) See Jerry Blevins pitch in Great American Ball Park vs. the Reds

- The final game of the series between the Reds vs. A's was our affiliate day at GABP. It was cool to see someone who I was able to interview on the Sports Huddle in action. As an added bonus it's never a bad thing to hang out with Marty!

5.) Take a trip to the Zoo.

It wasn't really the "Zoo" I was thinking about but I was able to check out all the animals at the Shedd Aquarium during my trip to Chicago!

6.) Explore the illustrious world of “Upper Arlington”

- Sadly the only thing I didn't get to do was check out Nick's stomping grounds! But there is always time for that I think!

How did you do on your summer bucket list? Let me know! Josh@wbvi.com
