It seems like one of the hardest things to do for me is to plan a vacation. I am lucky enough to be able to take some time away but I’ve never really planned a “vacation” before. I have done what I like to call a “cop out” vacation by going to see my brother or taking a few days at the casino but never the real deal. So at the end of the month I’ll be windy city bound to sweet home Chicago.
As I tell the people in the office when it comes time to plan a day off in radio it is almost more work than it’s worth! Dealing the scheduling and everything that goes into The Morning Mix plus other day to day things and planning to leave can be a chore. I have had to deal with more of those travel websites and hotel sites than I have ever messed with in my life. If finding a hotel doesn’t kill you the random price increases will! I finally gave up and turned that portion of my trip over to the expert (thanks mom!).
Here’s the agenda so far:
- Chicago Cubs Game at Wrigley Field
- Blue Man Group
- Shed Aquarium
- Hancock Observatory
- Field Museum
- House of Blues (Vic said I had to eat here)
- Museum of Science & Industry
Having a trip to Chicago under my belt for my class trip I have an idea what I would like to check out but that’s where you come in. I think I have most of the touristy things covered so far. Do you have any suggestions of must see places in Chicago?
Let me know!
As a final note… THANK YOU to everyone who help with and played in our 5th Annual WFOB Athletic Booster Invitational at Fostoria Country Club on June 25th. I knew we had a great time and it’s always nice to see everyone! It almost serves as a transition into the craziness that is fall sports season!
