BIRD MONITORING, HPD, FINDLAY

HPD OFFERS BIRD MONITORING IN THE PARKS: Join Bob Sams, Hancock Park District Natural Resource Assistant, once a month throughout the year to conduct a Bird Diversity and Population Census. All skill levels are welcome! It’s a great way to learn about birds or become a better birder! Participants will count all observable birds. Hiking distances and times will vary. Please be prepared for weather, ground conditions, and at least 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours on the trails. Attend this free activity with no registration required. HPD HABITAT PARK RESTORATION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

HPD HABITAT PARK RESTORATION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Oakwoods Nature Preserve is a wonderful park, but is overrun with non-native plant species. Join HPD staff from March through October as we work to restore the beautiful native habitat back into this park. Participants should be prepared to help with various seasonal outdoor tasks such as grapevine cutting, invasive species removal, seed collecting, reseeding, tree guard installation and repair, pruning, weeding, planting, trial maintenance, etc. Please bring work gloves and dress for the weather. Tools will be provided for the activities of the day. If weather is unfavorable for outdoor activities, participants may be able to assist with indoor activities such as animal care, enclosure cleaning, seed cleaning, etc. Registration is required the day prior to each session by calling the HPD Office @ 419-425-7275 (M-F 8am-4:30pm), so we are prepared to contact you with changes due to weather or unforeseen project opportunities. If your group or organization is interested in helping, but the dates below do not work with your schedule, feel free to contact the Hancock Park District Office to arrange another date and time. YOUTH- N-FISHING WORKSHOP, BURGOON

Youth-N-Fishing A “Passport to Fishing” Workshop For ages 4 to 17 and Sponsored by Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife Youths 4 to 17 accompanied by a parent are invited to attend this free workshop designed to teach young and beginning anglers the basics of fishing and fishing safety. Fishing equipment and training aids will be provided. Reservations are required by March 20, 2015 to allow for ordering supplies. HPD OFFERS WILDFLOWER MONITORING IN THE PARKS Join Hancock Park District Natural Resource staff on a journey of identification and documentation of wildflowers as they emerge and bloom along the trails in the parks. Dress for weather and ground conditions. Monitoring generally lasts approximately 1 ½ hours or more. Participants are welcome to attend this FREE activity with no registration required. Recommended for participants 12 years and up. Malt Shop Memories, Fostoria

The Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus proudly presents: Malt Shop Memories, our 53rd annual show on April 25, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fostoria High School Performing Arts Center. Remember hanging out at the malt shop and the songs of the day? You will be taken back to the best doo-wop songs presented in Barbershop style (four part close harmony). The featured quartet is Bustin’ Loose, a crowd-pleasing bunch who recently competed in the International Seniors’Quartet contest. Tickets for the show are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. Through its innovative movement style, trideaDANCE explores the quirks and intricacies of everyday life, and strives to make dance accessible and enjoyable to a variety of audiences.
