Cross Country Ski Workshop, HPD, Findlay

From 9:00AM to 10:30AM

The HPD Program Staff will be presenting beginning cross-country ski workshops on Saturdays in the month of January. Workshops will take place on January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, from 9-10:30 AM. Meet at the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Concession at Shelter 3, in the Big Oaks Area, at Riverbend Recreation Area. HPD will teach basic ski techniques such as gliding, turning, rhythm, how to turn around and how to get up if you fall down. Wear layered clothing, including hats and gloves, to keep yourself warm and dry. Children are required to be at least 8 years old and are required to register with a participating adult. Workshops are subject to proper snow and weather conditions (At least 3-5 inches of good snow base is required). Riverbend Recreation Area is located at 16618 TR 208, off SR 568, east if Findlay. Disc Golf Ice Bowl Benefit-HPD, Findlay

The Disc Golf Community Association will be hosting the 10th Annual Ray Heverling Charity Ice Bowl on Saturday, January 31 at Riverbend Recreation Area. The Ice Bowl will benefit the Family Center of Findlay-Hancock County. Check-in starts at 12 PM at Shelter 3, in the Big Oaks area. New and experienced players are invited to play one round of disc golf consisting of 18 permanent baskets and 2 temporary baskets for a total round of 20 holes. Win exclusive Ice Bowl prizes! Enjoy a warm fire and hot drinks. Play starts at 1pm. Entry fee is $20. First 10 registrants get an Ice Bowl Logo Mini Disc and an Ace Pool will be available!
