Kids in the Park: Winter Fun, HPD, Findlay

From 1:00PM to 3:00PM

Join winter fun and a hike in the park with Program Assistant, Chris Allen on Saturday, January 10. Meet at shelter #1 at Riverbend Recreation Area at 1 PM; the hike will last until 3 PM. If there is snow, plan to take a hike and sled down the hills! Maybe you can show your artistic side and make a big snowman or a snow angel. Riverbend Recreation Area is located at 16618 TR 208, off SR 568, east if Findlay. FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS COPE IN FOSTORIA

CROSS COUNTRY SKI WORKSHOP, HPD. FINDLAY

The HPD Program Staff will be presenting beginning cross-country ski workshops on Saturdays in the month of January. Workshops will take place on January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, from 9-10:30 AM. Meet at the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Concession at Shelter 3, in the Big Oaks Area, at Riverbend Recreation Area. HPD will teach basic ski techniques such as gliding, turning, rhythm, how to turn around and how to get up if you fall down. Wear layered clothing, including hats and gloves, to keep yourself warm and dry. Children are required to be at least 8 years old and are required to register with a participating adult. Workshops are subject to proper snow and weather conditions (At least 3-5 inches of good snow base is required). Riverbend Recreation Area is located at 16618 TR 208, off SR 568, east if Findlay. Night Skis, HPD, FINDLAY

From 7:00PM to 9:00PM

Enjoy skiing at night at Riverbend! HPD will be offering night skis on Saturday, January 10 and 24, from 7-9 PM as long as there are good snow conditions, with a snow base of 4-6 inches. Some of the areas will be lit by luminaries, as you make your way through the snowy trails. Just show up at the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Concession, at Shelter 3 in the Big Oaks area, located at Riverbend Recreation Area with $5 if you have your own equipment or $10 if you need to rent HPD’s. This event is not recommended for first time skiers or for younger children. Riverbend Recreation Area is located at 16618 TR 208, off SR 568, east if Findlay.
