20th Anniversary of the “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center Open House Come join the HPD’s Program Staff to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the opening of the Richard S. “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center on Sunday, September 7 from 1-4pm. You will learn how the Discovery Center was started and the plans for it in the near future. There will be activities, hikes and more for the entire family. The Oakwoods Nature Preserve, “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center is located at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, off West Sandusky Street, off CR 144, west of Findlay. The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
