Women A.C.T. Conference

4/20/13 Women A.C.T. Conference - one day interdenominational conference for women of all ages. The speaker will be Lisa Meiners from Centerville, Ohio. Jennifer Shaw from Columbus will share her music ministry and the special feature of the day. Camden Falls Reception & Conference Center in Tiffin, Ohio / Lunch is included in the $23 cost. Bird Monitoring

From 8:00AM to 10:30AM

Join Bob Sams, Natural Resource Assistant, at Oakwoods Nature Preserve in Findlay at 8am, once a month to conduct a Bird Diversity and Population Census. Participants will count all observable birds. Hiking distances will vary with at least 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours on the trails. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Open Fun Horse Show

4/20/13 YMCA Camp Willson, Bellefontaine, Ohio - Open Fun Horse Show at 9am. Classes include both English and Western; also Sportmanship, Equitation, and Reining. Entry fee for each class is only $5 per class or a competitor can choose to show all day for $50. Don't have a horse?...you can rent one of our camp horses for the show. ARBOR DAY

Help us celebrate this national holiday as we join the Findlay Shade Tree Commission, Gleaners Life Insurance Society and others to kick off a new "Neighborhood-Adopt-A-Tree"program in the city of Findlay. A variety of demonstrations will be provided on tree care and maintenance by area professionals. Refreshments will be provided. Come help us plant trees to reforest this area park.

Historic Lecture Series

Folk Music of the 19th Century America & the Dulcimer at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Discovery Center, Findlay 10am/Come and listen to some of the oldest folk songs on one of America's most unique instruments! Living History interpreter Lisa Culbertson will be leading a brief historical lecture discussing early American Folk music commonly known and sung during the 1800s and its relations to the dulcimer. Afterward, attendants will be able to enjoy music played on the Scheitholt, a little know German cousin of the instrument. No fee, but register by Friday April, 19th.

"A MUSIC TEA", TIFFIN

"A Music Tea" April 20th featuring The Woodland Trio from Heidelberg University, Mckenzie Honaker and Morgan LaFlure on flute and Morgan Mabry on clarinet. The teas will include elegant homemade delicacies such as fancy sandwiches, pastries, fruit and candy, as well as two kinds of tea. This event will be held at the Grammes-Brown House, 172 Jefferson St., Tiffin. Guests are welcome to tour the Victorian era home.

Cabaret 2013

2013 CABARET FEATURES VAN BUREN SHOW CHOIR The Association, the award-winning show choir of Van Buren High School, will present Cabaret 2013 at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 19th and 20th in the Van Buren High School Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens/students (K-12). They can be purchased in advance during the following times at the ticket booth: 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday the week of the show and one hour before each performance Friday and Saturday evening. All tickets are for reserved seating. Cabaret 2013 is the annual end-of-year celebration and talent showcase of The Association and The Essentials, the award-winning instrumental combo of the show choir. Members of the show choir will present a variety of solo and ensemble music, from Broadway to rock 'n' roll and country. The show choir will also perform their competition show, which features “Masquerade,” “Transylvania Mania” from Young Frankenstein “Anthem” from Chess, “Hands of Time Medley,” “Seven Bridges Road/Sweet Home Alabama.”

Seeing and Navigating the Night Sky

8pm at Riverbend Recreation Area, Shelter #5, Findlay - The Millstream Astonomy Club of Findlay will be presenting a DVD program on navigating the night sky. After the program, telescopes will be set up to view the moon, Jupiter and many other heavenly objects.
